Financial aid night

The process of Financial Aid Application and getting student financial aid is a complex one. A proper beginning is essential to maximize the amount of assistance available to you. National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) was developed planning and conducting of Financial Aid Night.Counselling is the best way to inject the Financial Aid Information to students and parents. They conduct various workshops to transmit their knowledge to the parents and students in an effective way.

Anually they organizes 300-400 Financial aid workshops around the country to share the Financial Aid Information with their constituents. Financial Aid Newsletters, Brouchers, Group discussions and public presentations are the most efficient way of providing information to the parents and students unlike student/counselor ratios, additional administrative and teaching duties for counselors and individual sessions.

In this backdrop,Financial Aid Nights are gained momentum in passing the information to parents and students by saving the counselors time.Intially the participants will be provided with written publication via group presentaions.But compared to individual presentaions,group presentations gives more attention. The distributed publication is is two parts to support the counselors in planning and conducting a financial aid information night for students and parents.

Financial Aid Night includes eight steps. They are as follows:

Setting the date: At the outset, the Financial Aid Night requires to select an appropriate date to schedule a Financial Aid Night. And analyze the influenciable factors before staring a date. Pick a date which balances other school-related activities for parents. And also be aware of religious issues which affects the families that need Financial Aid Information.Dont pick a date which were holidays, entertainment or athletic events and bad weather.

Setting a time: Organize Financial Aid Nights with the convenient the timings of parents and students like holidays.

Selecting a facility: Accommodate the presentation, based on the prior information provided by the parents and students. Choose a Conference Hall which accommodates microphone, visual aids, or PowerPoint presentations, etc. When selecting visual aids, remember that your audience will probably need to take notes.

Advertising the Night: If you are confirmed the date, time and facility you can advertise the Financial Aid Information Night. Start your campaign before two or three weeks through the repeated announcements in homerooms and study halls, sending brochures to parents, by announcing on local television and radio, news or calendar items in local newspapers, items in PTA or school newsletters, posters in shopping areas, public address announcements at sporting events, and other school and community activities.

Determining the presenters: The presentation should be given by the person who is expertise in handling Fiancnial Aid Issue. It is very important to attract the audience by giving two hours presentation. And also invite outside presentators which add value to the presentation.

Making a list, checking it twice: If the arrangements are completed, confirm each one before a week of the presentation date. Give periodic reminders to the participants and announce them to come ten minutes after the auditorium is to have been opened.

Delivering the information: Arrive well in advance and Check before the presentation, whether doors are unlocked, utilities are available, and audio-visual equipment is in working order. Start your presentation at a scheduled time and encourage them to ask questions after the presentation.

The finishing touches: After the completion of the Night, convey heart full thanks to the outside presenters publicly and in writing shortly thereafter.
